Their first competition was the South Jones Show Choir Invitational at JCJC on January 26th and 27th. Imagination received First Runner-up in Class A Mixed Division and one of the top five scores from all divisions. Sassy received First Runner-up in the Women's Division. Center Stage scored excellent ratings in die Middle School Division. Next, the show choirs traveled to Picayune for the Best of the South Show Choir Invitational on February 2nd and 3rd. Center Stage received Second Runner-up in the Middle School Division. Sassy was awarded Grand Champion in the Women's division and Fourth Runner-up in the finals competition. The Sassy ladies had one of the top five scores from the entire competition. Imagination also received Grand Champion in their division and Second Runner-up in finals. The group also had one of the top five scores of the competition. Kristen Benigno received Grand Champion in the soloist competition. On February 9th and 10th the groups traveled to Opetika, Alabama, for the Southern Showcase Show Choir Festival. Center Stage placed Second Runner-up in their division. Sassy won the titles of Best Choreography, Best Overall Effect, and Grand Champion of the Women's Division. Imagination was named First Runner-up in the Middle Mixed Division and received the award for Best Costume of the entire competition. The group earned one of the top scores of the day and placement in the finals competition. In the finals Imagination was named Third Runner-up. Both Sassy's band and Imagination's band were awarded the Highest Instrumental scores in their respective divisions. Upcoming competitions include the North Forrest Show Choir Invitational and Disney Magic Music Days. West Jones will host the First Annual Pine Belt Show Choir Invitational on March 2nd and 3rd at William Carey University in Hattiesburg. Show choirs from throughout the South are scheduled to participate. Congratulations and good luck to each of the show choirs and their directors, Mr. Laurin Mizell and Mrs. Jennifer Scrimpshire!
