2009 UAB team camp a success

Here are the game highlights:
RHS 2, Terry 1
Sophomore forward Shannon Locke broke through the Terry backline and flew past the Terry defense for the first score. Terry would tie the score shortly before the half. In the second half, a Locke shot was saved but Freshman midfielder Hanna Harris put in the rebound for the 2-1 score. A third final goal was scored but disallowed (out-of-bounds) on a cross from Freshman forward Mary Ashton Lembo to 7th grader Tracie Hobbs.
RHS 2, Oak Grove 2
The Lady Titans would score twice in the game's first seven minutes. Locke would again break through the defense and score. A few minutes later, Locke would attempt to intercept a passback to the Oak Grove keeper. She was fouled, and Junior midfielder Sloan Bancroft would make the penalty kick. Oak Grove would score twice on breakaways after Titan turnovers.
RHS 2, Zachary 0
Lembo would score the game's first goal. Eighth grade fullback Lauren Shelby would blast a goal from over 30 yards out giving RHS the 2-0 win.
RHS 4, Van Cleave 0
Locke would score a pair of goals and Mary Ashton Lembo would connect on a volley from a corner kick from Bancroft. Rachel Harris scored the game-winner. |
